October 20, 2023 - Gang of 4 Sweet Lake Farewell tasting (@ RW): Beautiful bouquet with dark berries, autumn forest and herbs and spices. On the palate minerals, earth, some good rustic impressions, graphite, soft and round tannin with a lovely bite, some chocolate and juicy with a good length. Beautiful wine..

October 6, 2023 - PnP and was getting better and better throughout the dinner…

Solid acidity with resolved tannins and complex mid palate and finish.

Not as it’s peak but a good experience!

February 19, 2023 - 5 hour decant, drank over two days: full bodied, leather earth, plum, iodine. Plan on a long decant. Past it's prime...doubt this will get any better. Enjoyed it nonetheless.

March 12, 2022 - With a grilled steak, this wine sang. Dark fruit, with a grip that indicates to me, contrary to the prior review, that it's got at least five years of life ahead.

September 26, 2021 - Drinking just stellar right now after being opened for ~ 4 hours in the bottle, one of the best bottles we have recently had. Our WOTN in some very stiff CA, French, Italian and Aussie competition. Drink now, at peak but no further upside / eventual significant downside expected with further cellaring although this is still solid enough to have at least another 2-3 years to go at this level. Soft, oak and tannins gone, very well integrated but enough dark fruit and acid present to maintain a good structure and core. Dark purple, elegant nose with cherry, coffee and lavender, soft mouth feel and a beautiful very long lingering aftertaste. Complex profile of plum, dark cherry, coffee, garrigue, leather and ash on the late palate. Highly recommend - this is one beautiful high end properly aged Napa Bdx wine.

August 22, 2021 - Very nice aged Napa Cab. All about the leather and spice box here with some cherries and cranberry emerging with some air. Very pleasant and very nice acidity note. I love aged Rudd.

February 15, 2020 - Cherries, cranberries, bell pepper, leather and spicebox.
Lighter and leaner than expected, fine grained tannines, lacking some length, depth and complexity.
A nice wine, but nothing more. Poor QPR.

September 20, 2019 - Brought by one of us to enjoy after the Auction in Trier. Comes across so young still, while being an absolute joy to drink already. Ripe dark fruit notes, roasted coffee and integrated tannins. Charming and delicious!
