February 23, 2023 - Same bottle as Melvin. Bottle in mint condition with bottom neck fill and a clean and still dry cork top. While not corked the wine had picked up particularly on the nose a lot of those musty notes one sometimes gets in older Bordeaux from the 60s and 70s. I get them more often in completely soaked corks but perhaps it was simply the barrels that were not clean. Sometimes they blow off but not tonight. Anyway, beneath the taint seemed to be a solid Pauillac with still with some good fruit and a structure. NR

February 22, 2023 - Dinner at Asia Grand: Corked but still drinkable. Dark red fruit with plenty of structure and unresolved tannins still. Haven't had much experience with 70s Bordeaux but both showed well tonight.

January 30, 2019 - Drank this wine at a wine dinner at Tung Lok Heen. Theme of the evening: A wine to celebrate CNY.

The longevity of this wine is simply amazing; at 44 years of age, the primary berry and cigar notes are coupled with secondary notes of earth, tea leaves, flint and dust.

September 21, 2018 - Better on the nose, with its cedar, herb, leaf, tobacco and bright red berry nose, than on the palate, which has a rustic, slightly green edge. Perhaps a bit too on the old school, classic side, others might like it more, if that's yout thing.

August 27, 2018 - Really rather nice for a 75, this starts off with a blackberry, blackcurrant, coal, and mineral nose before the fruit takes a turn towards redcurrant. Lovely - not profound, but a nice snapshot of the 75 vintage and where GPL was at the time. Past apogee; drink now.
