November 28, 2020 - With thanksgiving turkey. Very good combo; it just goes very well with all the flavors in the thanksgivng line up. Great fruit and balance. Yummy
May 12, 2020 - This has lain around for a while; one of my later Wine Access acquisitions before they mysteriously dropped me from their mailing list (probably good for my wallet that happened btw). What with so much Asian-inspired cuisine flying out the kitchen these days, it seemed only appropriate. Dulcie proclaimed it "excellent" and she has been notably hard to please of late. I do not disagree as my earlier TNs should attest to. This can certainly handle a few more years and really didn't show any sign of age.
December 23, 2019 - Very good wine. Had it with pork and it just works very well.
August 25, 2018 - Same comments as Nov 17. No improvement
May 11, 2018 - So funny everyone posting the exact same thing I was thinking and perplexed with about this wine. Wanted to like this but for me the nose was closed off at first and first sips did not impress. Came back to it a little later and it was perfect. Maybe it just needs like 1 hour+ To open up. Snagged another bottle so hoping to revisit in couple years and see if it opens up more. If it does it should be great Alsace gc for the price
February 13, 2018 - This gets better and better; this time I might almost go to sublime. It is really what you want from Alsace: minerality and petrol on the nose, bracing acidity, complex palate with nuttiness, bright citrus, more earthy bottom notes, long finish.
November 11, 2017 - A bit underwhelming. Smooth and balanced. May be too early to drink? Disappointing compared to other efforts.
November 2, 2017 - Not exactly a ton of CT action on this wine. The second of my four. Reaction this time a lot better than my first encounter. The color is quite a warm gold; there is a slightly ethereal nature to the palate, a hint of sweetness but in a subtle way with a smooth texture and complex palate. The most underrated region?
May 26, 2017 - At first trying I was not so impressed but then decided that the accompanying dish had perhaps compromised the tasting. A little bit later I was persuaded to change my mind. Pale gold in the glass, a subtle aroma of some floral notes, a bit of saline and a hint of petroleum. It is quite layered on that palate - that Alsatian earthy minerality, moderate acidity, citrus, a lingering pleasant finish. A wine you want to get to know better.
