Community Tasting Notes 5

October 5, 2017 - Nose of rose petals, palate of lychee and a little gingerbread as it warmed. It is better at room temperature than cold. But, it is also over the hill... heat comes through... and it has a rum-like quality. Drink up.

November 14, 2014 - Similar to prior bottles, lychee and rose petals, but seems hotter than prior bottles. Drink up.

July 14, 2011 - Similar to prior TN-- rose petals with lychee-- backdrop of minerals-- did not appreciate ginger this bottle, but did not nurse the bottle for 3 days either. Seemed more vibrant at 2 hours.

March 22, 2010 - Consumed over 3 nights-- best on night 2. Nose of lychee and rose petals. Palate of same, unctuous, and by day 3, backdrop of ginger and minerals. Jacqueline Friedrichs calls this bottling a "waterfall" of gewurz and it definitely is lush and powerful. A tad hot, but less bothersome heat compared to my last tasting. Hold 3+ years.

December 23, 2009 - 1st night-- tight, nose of rose petals mostly, palate of same + lemon, sweet, somewhat hot, not enough acidity

2nd night-- more floral nose (rose petals mostly), palate of gingerbread, lemon, unctuous, better balance, less alcohol and more acidity so it seemed

    Cellar 2-3 years.
