August 5, 2023 - Aged to the very last degree possible on drinking. Great sub for port in a pinch. Rich and jammy after 30 mins decanting.
January 30, 2023 - Decanted briefly. A bit porty but otherwise robust and well-aged with supple leather and dusty fruit. Old wine for old men.
June 27, 2017 - Decanted at 7am for dinner that evening. Really great flavor. Layered nicely. Any hint of acidity in the am was gone by evening. Lovely. Wish I had a 2nd bottle now.
December 7, 2016 - Excellent wine, seemed a bit acidic, but after 12 hours it lost the edge and got its fruit, beautiful nose, color.
November 24, 2016 - Thanksgiving 2016: A wonderfully aged blend. Dark red fruit with a dusty mouth feel which delivers mulberry, and some distant blackberry. Medium length finish dominated by sweet prunes.
October 11, 2013 - Pretty mellow and a bit late to drink, even for this Magnum. Drink them if u have them!
June 24, 2013 - Allowed to breathe in glass 30 minutes before tasting. Clear deep dark garnet-blood-ruby color. Elegant bouquet of fresh mixed flowers, dusty cherries, creme de cassis, spice box, and forest floor. Intermittent savory notes of beef blood were not bothersome. Rich, balanced, full bodied on the palate, with medium finish.
March 1, 2013 - Tasted blind among some heavy hitter reds.
Last flight of the night, so notes are a bit sketchy (!)

Nose - rich dark fruit. caramel/ mint
Mouth - decadent, woody, plenty of structure - a mouthful
Finish - big, long
** I had the remains of this the next day. wow. 2 oz in the bottom of the bottle 24 hours later and IT WAS EVEN BETTER. lovely, lovely wine.**
October 24, 2011 - Just another great example of California wine; Well balanced; still with plenty of fruit.
June 6, 2011 - better than i anticipated. still plenty of life left.
