Community Tasting Notes 3

February 24, 2023 - Eschenauer bottling - level was mid- to low-shoulder, much worse than another bottle opened in 2017. Nose was still very fragrant, with leather, animal notes, along with rose petals and other floral notes. Fairly light in terms of body once the sediment is discounted, but the fragrance was very lovely.

June 1, 2019 - Cheval Blanc Vertical ‘Chez Elke’ (Hotel Hohenzollern, Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler): Chateaux Bottling. Lovage, geranium and oxidative notes in the nose, but in the palate the wine is surprisingly still quite good and pleasurable to drink.

June 1, 2019 - Very light and turpid color. Definitely shows signs of oxidation, showing the typical smells of geraniums often seen in older Chevals. Still surprisingly powerful on the palate and definitely a pleasure to drink.
