  June 24, 2021 - PnP, last and best bottle of 12. On the nose red fruits with a warm, herbaceous touch and a hint of tertiary notes, on the palate full bodied, smooth and long. At its peak now, for sure not a high end wine, but for its price it was incredibly good.

  February 9, 2020 - Decanted two hours before dinner. Not much different to my last note. Great nose, warm, red fruits (mainly prune) and a hint of tertiary notes, on the palate still some edges, good freshness and medium to long finish, still slightly drying, needs food. Good structure to age but perhaps not enough fruit for further improvement, better to drink in the next 2 to 3 years, good price to quality relation.

  August 29, 2016 - Bottle 4 of 12, still improved within the last two years. Has benefited from the decant. In the nose prune and leather, mature, superb. On the palate still remarkable tannins but all in all very approachable. Medium to long finish with a bit dry end. Definitely not over the hill, I think people usually do not pay enough attention to wines in this price segment but it would return it back. 89 points with potential for more in one or two years, don't hurry to drink, it will last for at least another 6 years.

  April 13, 2015 - Last bottle from a case. This wine was a great value. However, this bottle showed some signs of tiring. Probably time to drink up.

  October 13, 2014 - This one showed a little more its age but still had elegance and class, dried blackberry and anise with smoky-oaky notes and a fuzzy finish. Acidity is really good and just the right amount with lovely cassis notes on the finish. I have more of the Casona in the cellar but that was the last bottle of the 2005 Hecula ... Though I do have an '03 calling my name now
