April 12, 2024 - Smooth as glass. Great with Asian sautéed sea scallops and fried rice
April 2, 2024 - Delicious dark cherry, earth, and forest floor on the nose and savory palate with refreshing acidity on the long finish. Simply delicious!
August 26, 2023 - Excellent. Still has plenty of life. A bit cloudy.
June 1, 2023 - Not sure what to make of this bottle. Usually I am a great fan of Swan Terrace, but here the balance seems off. Color is almost translucent at the edges. Very floral, perhaps in a bretty way. Lots of concentration and fruit up front, followed by a bright acidic finish that seems a bit thin.
October 14, 2022 - Peak was probably a few years ago, but this is still lovely. And got better over a few hours. Very much a red fruit wine with a rhubarb character that seems quite common with mature Rhys pinot noir. My wife liked it even more than I did and would've given it a 95.
May 6, 2022 - Please see my previous note. This wine was light bodied with a good rhubarb, sour twang. It also developed an attractive texture after about 5 hours in a decanter.
It had light tannin and might still gain a little with time in the cellar if you enjoy refinement and nuance.
Drinking but might gain a point or so.
February 14, 2022 - Oddly spongy cork under capsule which came out whole with ah-so puller. Delicious California pinot with deep cherry flavors.
May 14, 2021 - From memory. This was really quite well put together. quite concentrated dark cherry fruit. Came across as powerful, but not hot, over ripe or extracted. Elegant spicy notes really round this out. Probably still on the upswing.
March 28, 2021 - Best red Rhys I’ve had. Drinking nicely now. But, did not fade at all over 5 hours. Has many years still.
March 26, 2021 - Two hour decant. Wine is drinking really nicely right now but has time if you want to hold.
