May 12, 2024 - Ripe black fruit and saturated with flavors that leave you begging for more sips. This Colgin Syrah ‘14 is deep, dark and intense from start to finish. Scorched flowers, sweet minerals, cloves and spices with roasted meats. Nice acidity, ripe tannins on long finish. Happy Mother’s Day!

August 6, 2022 - Power with finesse. Paired well with the Beef Bourgeon @ Bistro Jeanty. The wine really opened up after an hour +decant! . The nose is expanding and the palate is developing with each taste.
This bottle wasn’t as good as the previous bottle from my cellar. May have been stored improperly, definitely was not as smooth. Still enjoyable.

June 17, 2022 - I agree with some of the recent tasting notes. It’s exquisite on the nose - fresh, vibrant, floral, great purity of fruit. Really promising. On the palate though it was a little flat. The layers disappeared and it was indeed a bit one note. There is a bitter iron-like finish that is just a touch unpleasant.

March 20, 2022 - Deep inky color, dark fruit with yeast and touch of baby powder on nose with medium tannins and a long finish of dark fruit. Enjoyed, but a bit “one note”, lacking the complexity needed to drive an active discussion on the palate. Will open again in 3-5 years.

January 4, 2022 - Not overwhelming in any one area. Primary for sure. Enjoyed drinking it!! Needs 2-20 more years. Got 2 more will try to be patient… more patient!

April 26, 2019 - A powerful, muscular wine with ample tannins for further aging. I believe you need to decant this for about an hour to allow for it to open, but then you are amply rewarded. The aroma is of dark red fruit, violets and blueberry pie. The wine unfolds in two distinct layers on your tongue and its viscosity pleasing coats the throat. The powerful wine provides first a red cherry and plum leads a fruit forward assault and then licorice, spice and a touch of cedar.
