July 14, 2021 - I'm a bit of a newbie to sherry but this is my kind of drink. Not as harsh and dry as some of the fino I tried from TWS, this is much purer and easy to enjoy. Absolutely lovely with some salted nuts or choclo, recommended!

March 10, 2021 - Even on a cold late afternoon with the fire going, a big red is too weighty, and tea or a cocktail aren't quite right. This sherry fits the bill, with with a few crackers on the side. Nice chestnut color, dark flavors of dry-treacle or toffee, plus almonds and walnuts in the mix. Maybe a touch of burnt orange. Good mouth-watering acidity. Very nice. Purchased in 500ml format.

January 30, 2021 - Not a fan of oxidative wines, so this was really hard work for me. Darker color than the vin jaune next to it. A bit of dried fruit and dark coffe and nutty aromas but the overall experience is dominated by the acetaldehyde aromas of oxidative aging, very dry, unpleasant at least for my palate.

January 3, 2021 - The nose on this is heady and pronounced. Bruised yellow apple, toffee, wood varnish, golden fig, leather, cinnamon spice, candied orange peel and oyster shell. This is a delicious olorosso. Full bodied and sweet at first but with a lot of savory nuance and depth to the flavors. This is one I’d prefer to drink alone instead of with a meal.

September 27, 2020 - First Dinner at the Farm (Pokai Parera, Ekatahuna, New Zealand): Stunning sherry of great richness, balance and class. Tawny/brown, very rancio, very intense, with a clear walnut finish. Intense palate of barly sugars, alcohol and very thick mouthfeel. Stunning with warmed olives, parmesan crisps, smoked mushrooms, and almonds. Top class.

April 16, 2020 - 87-88 Now and again the Sherry craving creeps up on me; this weekend was such a time. This wasn't as rich as expected, lacking a bit of heft but still yum.

N: Burnt caramel, burnt orange rind, Twiglets (basically yeasty burnt bread), overtones of fresh roasted peanuts.

P: Surprisingly light in texture and weight, hides its 20abv well (maybe too well). Very savoury, burnt pastry, dry hazelnuts, subtle dried red currants, dried mandarin. Slightly 'flor'al (don't pardon the pun).

F: Long, Twiglet city, typical sherry freshness.
