January 8, 2024 - Last bottle was really great, should have waited before I opened the earlier ones!

December 23, 2022 - This was drinking really beautiful now. Light, elegant and a lovely fruitiness still with some depth, complexity and wonderful balance from the secondary and tertiary notes as well.

Cherry coke, raspberry, mashed strawberry, blackberry, rose petals, crushed stone, mushroom, slight oak touch, a bit of vanilla and some earthiness from forest floor and mushroom. Only a very bit of funk but almost unnoticeable compared to other bottles from Pataille and a bit of spiciness on the tongue.

November 13, 2022 - Much darker and richer than the 2012 that I drank a couple of years ago. Cherries came through, very well balanced.

July 1, 2022 - Dark red/cola in color. Transparent, but dark and not quite as crystalline as some red burgundy can be. On the nose, this is quite ripe and open with liqueur like notes of summer berries, cherry, and red fruits. Almost candied, but in a good way. Quite floral as well (lilac) and then spice. On the palate, this has nice body and mid palate density. Texture is more fine linen than silk. Red fruited and very spicey with good mineral undertones that give the wine lift. A core acid structure that is very well integrated along with ripe but quite present tannins. This is quite smooth right now with a slightly spicey finish with nice length. Alcohol seems medium to me and very well balanced. Whole cluster shows on the palate for sure. Quite enjoyable.

April 25, 2021 - Light bodied and delicate, but rather polished and with the ripeness of the vintage showing through. A wine to bridge burgundy and CA Pinot palates.

April 17, 2021 - This remains rather shy in its expression, but nice Marsannay nevertheless. Medium light, showing some complexity. There might be an upswing potential.

March 6, 2021 - Perman Red Burgundy night (Zoom-Perman Wines, Chicago IL): The nose is uplifted and perfumed with a delicate nature to the tones of strawberries, red cherries, rose petals, fresh picked berries, spice notes, crushed rocks, and some hints of earth. The Medium bodied feel has a lighter touch with crisp, medium+ acidity and silky, medium tannins. This is lovely and understated. In other words, classic Pataille as this is extremely elegant and the kind of Pinot Noir that can only come from Burgundy and this winemaker. This will likely need another 3+ years to fully round into form as the acidity is a bit extra crisp right now and the tones aren't fully working together just yet.

December 31, 2020 - On opening, worryingly petillant, and tasted completely off. Decanted, and massively improved. Actually quite fruity, but still a bit of unexpected tannin.

    October 7, 2020 - while a nice wine, this vintage doesn't hang with the 16 & 17 vintages.
Many of the same characteristics, but comparatively its nose and length are stunted.
