April 6, 2023 - wine was corked....unable to drink
June 2, 2018 - Lighter body than you’d expect, lively acidity, subdued tannins, super long finish. Chocolate, earth and honey.
October 7, 2017 - Brick red colour with a mature nose showing wonderful layers of licorice, tarragon, red berries and black pepper, dried herbs and flowers over the time of drinking. Mature palate with smooth tannins and dried hip roses and dried fruit. Lengthy finish showing dried herbs. This probably feels over the top for many, but I think it worked very well together with food.
September 9, 2017 - Lovely mature nebbiolo nose, medium bodied, good length, but the nose is better than the taste. Drink now.
August 3, 2017 - Brick red colour with a mature nose showing dried black pepper, salt licorice and herbs. Mature palate with softened tannins hip roses and fruit that is drying up. This was a very nice Barbaresco at 28 years of age, still showing plenty of life. Best after a two hour decanting and extra time in the glass and together with a juicy steak. Best 2009-2019.
December 10, 2016 - Dark dark cherries, licquorice, cocoa. Still quite vibrant acidity. Small but perky tannins, somewhat stemmy in character. Robust albeit a bit on the aged side. Lots of sediment so decant carefully.
November 19, 2016 - A lot better this time. Obviously quite old, the nose displays dirt, mold, leaves and so on. The fruit is still fresh, with licorice. Quite nice and balanced.
October 28, 2016 - Brick red colour. Very mature nose, but very tight in the beginning, showing spicyness, sois bois and leather. After a couple of hours it showed more chocolate and coffee in a very lovely way. Palate still had enough fruit to carry it through the whole dinner dominated by leather and hip roses, and as so often it was at its best in the end of the night. It took several hours of decanting for this wine to open up and show its finest. Feels very mature and ready to drink up now.
October 19, 2016 - Lovely garnet color with an orange rim, nose is mature with wet leaves and cherries and almonds in teh background. The palate has quite much nice tannins, maturity flavors first but soon cherry, almonds fills the mouth, the wine has along finish.
October 6, 2016 - Clear, pale intensity, garnet color bordering on brown.
Fully developed nose with medium(+) intensity. Aromas of dried cherry, raisin, forest floor, mushroom, leather, barnyard, tobacco, cold espresso and a slight hint of black truffle.
Medium bodied with rounded up, medium, tannins and medium(+) acidity. Holding up surprisingly well on the palate with medium(+) intensity. Dried cherry, cranberry, forest floor, bark, mushroom, espresso and murky wood. Medium(+) finish.
A bit over the hill but not completely. Drink within this year.
