August 13, 2016 - Probably the best bottle I've had of this. If I had any more I would like to see what it was like at 15 years, this bottle showed no signs of falling off.
June 1, 2013 - I'm afraid i let this one go a little to long before drinking. It was definitely past its prime and had lost almost all of the fruit. Heavy oak on the nose and in the mouth and unfortunately not much else.
March 5, 2012 - Beautiful golden color with vibrant acidity and wonderful balance.
November 23, 2011 - Wow, this is in a great place. Nose of tropical fruits and almonds. The racing acidity of it's youth has fully integrated and this is drinking perfect. This is an eye opener for me and shows the potential of white Rhone wines. The wife really liked it too.
September 5, 2011 - Our final Labor Day libation. Enjoyed with gnocchi with a mushroom sauce. The dish probably would have paired better with a Barbera d’ Alba. However, the recipe called for cream and a white wine with stuffing seemed to be a good alternative. It works. Lively and complex with a whole lot of something going on in the glass. Baked apple, lychee nuts, baking spice, tangerine and something tropical. An excellent mouthfeel with a crisp attack and unctuous finish. 14.1% alc. Highly Recommended.
June 27, 2011 - This is so fresh and lively! The Rousanne (98%) is really just hitting it stride while the Sauvignon Blanc (2%) helps (I think) keep the wine lively and brisk. It still speaks of the flavors from 11 months ago when I described it as, “Pure, clean and balanced with apple, baked apple and apple pie spices of nutmeg shading to vanilla” followed by a yeasty finish. I completely love this wine. It goes down so easily; this bottle was drained in no time. 14.1% alc. With smoked salmon and cheeses. Highly Recommended.
April 7, 2011 - Just like the last one 8 months ago, but a tad softer. More orange blossom notes than previously, but otherwise not much change. With a backed shrimp scampi topped with panko crumbs. The wine overpowers it; way too big. Highly Recommended.
February 22, 2011 - Nose of honey and ripe fruits. Viscous mouth feel, peach, honey and a bit of butterscotch flavors. A complex and interestingly flavored wine.
July 31, 2010 - While I posted on this just 2 months ago, I include it here because I just cannot get over how good this wine is. It blows the Garretson Limoid Cior away. The fruit is so much more intense; the palate so clean and the finish, well, so incredibly long. Pure, clean and balanced with apple, baked apple and apple pie spices of nutmeg shading to vanilla then a big yeasty finish. 14.1% alc. With crusty bread, cheeses, grilled pizzas. Highly Recommended.
June 8, 2010 - Beautiful golden color with a green tinge. Powerful, sexy aromas of lemon oil, honey, creme brulee and face powder. Glorious oily texture, with a nutty, fresh limestone addition. A full, fat finish loaded with flavor that was just a little flabby. Tremendously enjoyable. Drink now, peaked.
