April 17, 2024 - Soave & Brunello (Anima e Cuore): This wine closely matches how I think of the '15 Brunello vintage at this point in its evolution. Fruit-forward with fresh oak, figgy and ripe. Violet, cherry jam on the nose. On returning to the glass some eucalyptus and a herbal complexity starts to emerge. A touch of bitterness alongside ripe red fruit on the palate, lots of ripe tannin and decent length on the finish. This is a big, friendly vintage which wants to please- really appealing and on this showing will benefit from 5 years or so

April 16, 2024 - Pnp. This is good. What a wonderful Brunello, just as you expect and want it. No detours, no odd surprises, just a good Brunello. You know: red cherry, medium bodied, earthy notes. The color of th wine is starting to recede from dark red to that aging amber. Good to drink now, but it will still have plenty of years ahead, if you care to wait. It will be hard, though. … Update 2024-05-08: very good wine, and on its way to full maturity. We also had the 2016 the same evening. By comparison, the 2015 has more earthy flavors, multiple layers, and is overall more round at this stage. Both are very good: just different.

December 26, 2023 - Showing well right now. Decanted for 2 hours at 65 degrees F. Earth and neutral oak on the nose. This wine is very clean and precise. Medium + acidity. Medium, well-integrated tannins. The finish goes on and on.

November 10, 2023 - Opened for about an hour then recorded and brought to the restaurant with us. 3rd bottle consumed over the past 2 years. Light burgundy in color, notes of bright cherry and earth on the nose. Cherry and a hint of chocolate, with some earthiness on the palate. Good acidity. Still some noticeable tannin, but it doesn’t get in the way. Really enjoyable.

November 10, 2023 - Rich ruby color with aromas of plum, cherry, and cocoa. On the bud, it’s a bit of strawberry with a great smoothness.

September 5, 2023 - Sawgrass nailed it - this (believe it or not) is my 16th bottle consumed of this wine. Was an original foundational purchase for my new cellar 3 yrs ago. it has officially turned the corner and super tasty with just a bit of air. Cherry and chocolate - right Sawgrass!

July 21, 2023 - I love it when I stumble across a bottle like this one in my cellar. Purchased several years ago and tucked away. Opened it last night but was finishing an Amarone, so I pumped it and set back until this afternoon. Love the nose of cherry and a hint of chocolate. I suspect this will open up after a decant so sipping right now until it blows off a bit, still delightful, nice mouthfeel.

Day 2: softened up a bit, nice smooth black cherries with a slight tart. I would definitely decant about 2 or 3 hours. I have one more of this vintage, think I'll give it another year. Will only improve IMHO.
