January 12, 2024 - Dense flavors of cassis, cigar, ginger, leather, cinnamon, oak barks, and black fruits. Very intense aroma infused with smoke, alcoholic vapor. Top notch Cab from Columbia Valley

April 28, 2023 - Very easy drinking wine. No hard edges. Tannins well integrated into the dark cherry fruit.

January 12, 2023 - Shared at a small apres ski gathering, so no detailed notes. It was rich and balanced, with well integrated, fine tannins; maybe even easy drinking, which isn't always a compliment. Very enjoyable.

August 14, 2022 - Classic red mountain nose with fruit that can’t wait to be drunk and a palate of Dark red cherry, bbq, char, some grainy tannins that hit mid palate like velvet on your taste buds and finally a light tannic finish

    Yum in a glass

June 6, 2022 - Decanted two plus hours. Medium ruby in colour. Somewhat of a muted nose. Very restrained on how the fruit comes through. Mid finish, well integrated oak and the alcohol was kept it check nicely. it came across as a wine where the winemaker engineered it to be boring.

Had blind with a 16 BC Cabernet from "Blind Creek", and a 16 Beringer Private Reserve CS. The Col Solare has no real character, safe down the middle of the fairway type of wine. It won't offend anyone, but also isn't going to wow you or make anyone exclaim how amazing it is. The Beringer Private Reserve was unanimous favourite and in a different league.

March 28, 2022 - PNP. Modern, crowd pleasing style. 94/6 Cab and Cab franc from Red Mountain. Lot of stuffing, ripe black fruit, lot of oak. 14.5% ABV. Best at cellar temp. For me this needs a long decant or a few more years to integrate and settle down. Popping this after a 2009 Mayacamas really highlighted the contrasting styles.
