April 13, 2024 - Dark cherries, stone, a very clear iron/blood component. Harmonious on the palate. For me, slightly ahead of the Brunate this year. Good now, but no rush.

February 19, 2024 - Beppe Rinaldi Barolo Tre Tine 2014.
Vanskelig å la glasset stå i fred.
Lang fokusert finish med de fineste tanniner. 94p

January 16, 2024 - First time ever I wasn’t blown away by a Rinaldi Barolo. This one was kind of disappointing: a bit shallow/lacked the elegant complexity and finesse you expect, seemed overly mature and was rather short. But still a good wine of course. It might be that the 2012 Boxler Alsace Riesling GC Brand that preceded the Rinaldi was too hard to follow. Sometimes very dense and aromatic whites are.

October 5, 2022 - was surprised when I saw I paid over $200 for this bottle... its a light vintage and the wine shows it, may also be a tiny bit shut down... very elegant, medium bodied at most at this stage, again -- shut down a bit??... enjoyable but I would have thought I bought it for $90 to be frank... have one left in off site storage, hoping I drink it in 10-12 years and it has blossomed

March 9, 2022 - Yes it's not the best vintage of this wine, but still quite enjoyable now. In the early side of its drinking window.

November 23, 2021 - A blend of fruit from Ravera, Cannubi-San Lorenzo and Le Coste. Until 2009 the wine was known as Barolo Cannubi San Lorenzo Ravera, but changed to Tre Tine in 2010 after the law was changed so that the label couldn't bear multiple Barolo Cru names. Fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. Macerated for a month with the skins. Aged for 3½ years in large botti casks. 13,5% alcohol.

Deep, luminous and quite translucent cherry red color with a still quite youthful garnet hue. Quite rich and nuanced yet somewhat reticent nose with fragrant aromas of florals, some lifted volatile elements, a little bit of fresh dark forest fruits, light bretty notes of phenolic spice and leather, a sweeter hint of juicy dark fruits and a savory touch of earth. The wine is quite ripe, silky-textured and surprisingly gentle on the palate with a medium body and slightly restrained flavors of sour cherries, some sweeter notes of stewed rose hips, a little bit of gravelly minerality, light perfumed notes of dried roses, a hint of leathery funk and a touch of earth and sun-baked rocks. The wine feels rather mellow for a Barolo with its medium-to-moderately high acidity and quite easy tannins that slowly pile up on the gums. The finish is long, complex and slightly more acid-driven than the midpalate with a little bit of tannic grip and quite dry flavors of sour cherries, some bretty notes of leather and light smoky phenolic notes, a little bit of gravelly minerality, a hint of ripe cranberry and a perfumed touch of roses.

A surprisingly gentle, approachable and open-knit Barolo for its age - the unremarkable 2014 vintage really does show here. While aromatically and taste-wise this is recognizably Rinaldi, the wine lacks surprisingly much in structure and flavor intensity, coming across as sort of diluted in comparison to how Tre Tine normally performs. This is an enjoyable wine - even surprisingly so, given how young the wine is - but doesn't really reach the heights of the best vintages of Rinaldi, nor show much promise for extended cellaring. Although I can imagine the wine will still stay good for many more years, I'd say its aging potential is a bit limited and most likely the wine will reach its peak within the next 10 years or so.

February 14, 2021 - Medium light red, juicy ripe cherries, firm acidity, fine tannins. Youthful but elegant and very delicious, built for the long haul yet still drinking quite well today.
