November 26, 2014 - Cassis, herbaceous and smokey notes. Anise. Bright acid and fruity. A little bit of a thin feel on the palate with not an overly long finish.

August 31, 2011 - Slightly garnet color going clear at rim. Some floral and earthy aromas with red fruit. Rocky, taught, and austere palate. Finish is and peppery and edgy almost like a lean CdR with more of the smokey notes. The wine isn't green, but slightly underdeveloped. Slightly off tones associated with smokey character suggest some botrytis.

December 31, 2010 - Quite light, went very well with veal carré (made by Götz).

December 24, 2009 - Grape-y and simplistic with aromas of black cherry, raspberry liqueur, and purple magic marker leading the way to a light bodied, relatively coarse palate, finishing rough.

October 21, 2006 - Nice bright red/cherry color. Nose of earth and forest floor. No fruit at all. Pallet same. Very tannic and dry. Lots of earthiness, but nothing else. Tight. Closed. Should improve with bottle age, but I'm not going to take the chance. Not going to buy any more. Next day, nose opened a bit to show some very slight fruit, maybe cherry. Same on pallet, but not much. A little smoother and a little less dry, but still overly tannic.
