March 31, 2017 - In excellent condition, pale straw.
Lemon zest and mineral spice, hint of crushed herbs.
Lightly dances but with coiled power, beautiful structure. Very youthful. Lemon and limes, jasmine and honeysuckle, hint of roast almonds. Very refined acidity and long refined finish. Special.

March 18, 2017 - I would drink up , this wine was taking on a fair amount of secondary flavors. I wouldn't go any further than saying this wine was good . It did benefit from some air , but not much . Disappointing , waited too long on this one .

March 7, 2017 - Oh dear: yet another (slightly) premoxed BDM CC. What an enigma; superb fruit density and structure, and nice stoney minerals underneath but obvious oxidation on the nose and palate.

Another expensive disappointment from this once favourite, which, sadly, I've typically brought out with great trepidation, rather than pride, in recent years. This experience was a luncheon with a highly regarded wine-maker and his wife. The wife tried it once and wouldn't return to the glass because of the oxidation, proclaiming "life's too short..." The winemaker and I kept at ours, struck by the "what could have been..." element apparent from the quality fruit and structure -v- the oxidation.

I've spent thousands of $ (unfortunately, I mean it), for regular disappointment with this maker's Corton Charlemagne vintages from this millenium. With only one 2004 and one 2006 left I'll be relieved to close the BDM chapter of my drinking experience after over 30 years.

January 28, 2017 - Lunch at Noosa. Pale green gold colour tells the tale of a wine in good shape. Initially quite closed austere nose of oak, green apples and stone but opened over an hour to show white peach, gooseberry, red apple, lime and lemon. This bottle demonstrated an assertive palate of fruit with a tense mineral grip and drive into a long aftertaste of minerals and white stone fruit. A terrific bottle of CC.

November 13, 2016 - Complex with potential. Probably in a sleeping stage. Nose in the beginning heavy on petrol. Came together nicely after 3 hours showing its potential. Woud wait to drink mext bottle until 2018.Looking forward to its development.

(Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne) Very pale. Well-integrated oak notes and plenty of depth on the clean nose. Soft, concentrated and with lovely depth. There are no fireworks but tons of restrained interest. Worth the price of entry…
