December 12, 2014 - Popped n venturied at home with braised pork. Soft old world CDP. Red fruits, spice, and garrigue on nose. Palate had red fruits well balanced and food friendly. Definitely old world. Still have a magnum to enjoy in future. Will be a good experiment to contrast. Our 375 was ready to go. Drink n enjoy.

December 7, 2014 - Elegant and smooth, drinking very nicely but muted fruit and was a bit underpowered to pair with short ribs

December 1, 2014 - The bouquet has some pleasant barnyard impressions, garrigue, salty licorice, some mint and ripe red fruits. On the palate red fruits and minerals, a beautiful balance between acidity and sweetness, some tobacco and laurel, beautifully ripe tannin and a good length. The wine is ready now and will probably stay on this level for several years. 2020 will probably be no problem, but I hope to taste this again around then to see if there is more potential.

November 17, 2014 - [J&B Rhone tasting] Beginning to be approachable. Needs at 2-3 more years to really shine. Best from 2017. Will last another decade. Good stuff.

November 15, 2014 - From Half Bottle. No decanting. Much like back in 2010 when we last tried it this remains an enigma for us or at least too closed and not expressive. Maybe we shoudl have decanted but definitely did not show well on the day. 88

(Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf du Pape) A cherry pink-red hue in the glass. Often when tasted at this stage in its evolution I have found Vieux Télégraphe to be rather simple in its aromatics, but this wows me with wild notes of garrigue and aromatic herbs on top of the usual sweet fruit. It has a very soft entry onto the palate despite this, but then reveals a well composed supple melding of ripe tannins, well covered by fruit, with a good acid backbone as well. There is true character here too. Great potential, a fine vintage for the Bruniers I think.
