January 30, 2015 - This bottle was a little hot and benefited from drinking at a slightly warmer temperature than I usually like Granache. It was big and bold, dark and meaty with dark savory spice and fairly simple.

January 10, 2015 - @Fred_Lund: This is very sweet yet bitter. Quite short, one dimensional and boring. 88p (RP 95+!!)

January 9, 2015 - Aroma started with wet tabbaco leaves and. Now onto cherry nibs, palate is pretty big with red and black juicy berries with a truck load of earth. Balanced and delicious on the.big side ( still balanced)

December 30, 2014 - Very dark and brooding. Plenty of life left in this one, and could use a nice decant. Complex and interesting. Drink or hold.

December 28, 2014 - decanted 30 min (& then power went out. waited 1.5 hours, made dinner by candle & torchlight, so ultimately 2 hours before consumed). color beautiful crimson (by candlelight); nose is restrained but complex, wild herbs, kirsch & wild raspberries, seaweed, hot stones, cigar wrapper, toasted fennel seeds; med+ weight; concentrated & reserved on palate, showing a bit weedy & still crunchy tannins, very pure grenache fruit middle, wild bramble fruits, iron ore, seemed to evolve positively over dinner. really appreciated its reserved but complicated personality, very food-friendly. recommended for drinking in the dark.

christmas lima bean "stew" w/crispy pork carnitas on anson mills creamy polenta, feta, lime, jalapeño salsa

(Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf du Pape) A cherry pink-red hue in the glass. Often when tasted at this stage in its evolution I have found Vieux Télégraphe to be rather simple in its aromatics, but this wows me with wild notes of garrigue and aromatic herbs on top of the usual sweet fruit. It has a very soft entry onto the palate despite this, but then reveals a well composed supple melding of ripe tannins, well covered by fruit, with a good acid backbone as well. There is true character here too. Great potential, a fine vintage for the Bruniers I think.
