January 29, 2017 - Drinking very well now. Decanted for 2 hours. Great body and structure. Dark cherry comes through but perfect across the whole palate. Rich, firmly wrought tapistry of flavours.

January 26, 2017 - Continiue to find this my favorite region of France. Well balanced and smooth with rich flavors developing on the mouth and lingering through the finish. Classic CDP.

    January 21, 2017 - Medium ruby appearance.

Pronounced and evolved nose of red fruits- raspberry, candied red cherry, baking spice and savory herbs- wow !
Full bodied with medium acidity - and here is the surprise- still medium plus tannin and lots of structure 11+ years on. Lots of red fruits, spice and savory elements with a long and delicious finish.

This is drinking great now, but ( and this may be atypical for CDP) could easily last another decade given the acid , tannin and structure.

    January 17, 2017 - Tres C9P.Cuir Dimitri.

January 14, 2017 - Drank from 375, tight as heck. Needed about 4 hours to open up and let the fruit come through. Great balance once it opened up, but not a pop-n-pour right now.

(Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf du Pape) A cherry pink-red hue in the glass. Often when tasted at this stage in its evolution I have found Vieux Télégraphe to be rather simple in its aromatics, but this wows me with wild notes of garrigue and aromatic herbs on top of the usual sweet fruit. It has a very soft entry onto the palate despite this, but then reveals a well composed supple melding of ripe tannins, well covered by fruit, with a good acid backbone as well. There is true character here too. Great potential, a fine vintage for the Bruniers I think.
