June 13, 2022 - Big, ripe, alcoholic wine with low acidity and lots of glycerin. Tastes more like Chateauneuf du Pape than Bordeaux. I don’t like the winemaking, but the grape quality is indisputable.
April 13, 2022 - Nice bottle of Napa styled wine. While it’s still big, it has settled down and integrated well since first bottle a couple years ago. Throwing pretty heavy sediment for its age.

March 27, 2021 - Arietta's 2016 Quartet is an opaque ruby blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot that was aged for 20 months in French oak (50% new). This particular bottle was ordered in a restaurant, where it was uncorked, aerated for approximately one hour and then consumed in fine stemware over the ensuing two hours. Impressively fragrant, it delivers aromas of cassis, dark plums, Bing cherries, exotic spices, licorice and pipe tobacco. Full-bodied, fresh and integrating its 14.9% alcohol well, it delivers flavors mirroring the nose and stays solid on the mid-palate. The oak is well-woven, as are the plentiful silky-textured tannins that lead to a lengthy, smooth finish. This is a quality Bordeaux blend (done Napa Valley style) that is a joy to drink by virtue of its bright fruit and soft textures. Enjoy it throughout the decade. Drink now-2030.

August 10, 2020 - Decanted briefly. Intense mocha with lovely balance of young tannins and acid. Long finish with mocha, black pepper, and some minerality. Great wine for the price and drinking well young.
