August 3, 2022 - Brought to dinner at Porter House in NYC. This was definitely showing its age and past its prime. It was still elegant and enjoyable, but had lost a lot of stuffing. Maybe it was unrealistic, as the CT drinking window closed at 2015, but I was disappointed relative to some other fine Burgs I've had in the past year or two from '99 - '01, including a 2000 Clos de Beze and a 2001 Volnay Champans and a 1999 Pommard from Robert Ampeau a few months ago at Union Square Cafe, all of which were still drinking extremely well. Happily, the other red wine (2009 Rancia Riserva) had as much stuffing as anyone could want . . .
November 11, 2012 - Deep, smoky, fishy, meaty, intense minerality, excellent tannic backbone, freshness from the stalks, still quite young and closed at this stage; very good length. Drink 2015 - 2040.
April 17, 2012 - Dark mature fruit. Tones of plum, orange, strawberries and minerals. Pretty deep and with a great length. Quite complex.
February 26, 2012 - Diep donker rood. Vol hangend in t glas. Cassis, bessen, houttonen. Tannine. Mooie smaakaanzet en afdronk.
October 11, 2011 - Dumb and hard... ugh. The oak treatment is very concerning and I do not have high hopes for this wine... thank goodness I don't own any!
November 25, 2008 - Not really offering a lot at this point. Highly structured and tightly wound, with dark fruit and overt minerality. Bury the rest and try again in 5+ years.
November 17, 2008 - anche qua selvatico e straccetto bagnato, con una punto di carbonica. Un po' di sporcizia e squilibrio. Dopo esce della bella fruttina rossa
February 2, 2006 - This bottle was almost black in color with a strong cassis and spice nose but was a little disjointed on the palate with firm tannins dominating. Fruit was overwhelmed by the structure in a very New World way. Where's the velvet? Be patient???
