September 7, 2019 - The day finally came where I had to drink this winemaker autographed bottle (now deceased). RAR visiting!
Dark burgundy In color. Full bodied.
Lots of dark fruit on the nose. Blackberries. Some eucalyptus. Cigar box.
Silky smooth. Dry. Tons of dark fruit. Black pepper. Leather. Medium plus finish. High ABV. Still big and bold. What a wonderful bottle.
Magnums are better!

August 2, 2018 - It's not often one can open a 6.0L bottle, and this was thoroughly enjoyable. Berries, toast, spice, earth. Silky (if earthy can be silky), with a long finish. Excellent blend. Would likely developed nicely for a few more years in such a big bottle.
February 6, 2017 - Very well balanced and decent wine.
May 4, 2016 - John Hecht brought for a visit. Had with steak dinners.
October 1, 2015 - Medium deep ruby/maroon - nose is deep and dark, everything is in the key of black, but not as bad as that sounds - it is dark, but remains delineated, and fruits, ablbethem roasted, rise above the din- palate is smooth, deep, rich as the nose would have you, but there is a surprising amount of energy, and a medium body, that really draw you in and makes for a nice glass - a great wine for a nice steak (which we did), this has excellent power and energy, a combination often sorely lacking in New World wine - Bravo!
July 4, 2015 - Big & bold. Dark red fruit with nice blend of cab and merlot. Drinking very well right now.
June 25, 2015 - This bottle is still quite tannic even on day 2.
September 21, 2014 - Drinking well right now. Nicely balanced. Good fruit, spice, leather, cigar, vanilla, and dried earth. A great match for meatloaf. Tannins still kicking but not too harsh on the palate. Smooth finish. Has a few left as a guess but if I had any more they'd get killed soon.
September 13, 2014 - Smooth as silk and the finish rolled on. I don't see how this wine could have ever been better.
August 11, 2014 - Good day 2, but waaay better day 1. This is the real stuff.
