January 20, 2024 - This is much more laid back and subtle than the Limerick Lane. While both are opaque, this appears darker and less luminescent than the 1910 Block; more brooding. The wine is layered with dark cherries, plum and other dark fruits then on to baking spices and orange zest. At some point black pepper makes an appearance and continues through the long finish. Deftly balanced. One of the most claret like Zins I’ve had in many a year. Almost reminds me of a Geyserville, yet even more refined … as if that’s possible. A blend of 26% Russian River Valley Zinfandel, Carlisle Vineyard, 67% Russian River Valley Zinfandel, Papera Ranch, 7% Russian River Valley Zinfandel, Montafi Ranch. Some very slight sediment. 560 cases produced. 15% alc. With coq au vin. 01.20.24 Recommended.

January 17, 2024 - Light and lively. Not sure I'd go out of my way to buy.

June 25, 2023 - Opened, pour and let sit about 1/2 hr. Then: Minimal red fruit on the nose. Taste is red fruit, although not particularly strong, faintly sweet and not spicy; tannins OK; soft mouthfeel; acidity starts out OK, but then is more noticeable on the finish and not in a good way. No noticeable zin profile. This ends up being almost a generic red wine. OK to drink, but very forgettable and nothing like the other notes. Wonder if this is an off bottle.

May 20, 2023 - Long rich finish with balanced tannins for complexity. Not overly alcoholic like many zins. Perfect pairing with home made pizza.

April 8, 2023 - The color is the same as light cranberry juice …. And you can read through it, it’s so translucent. Spicy on the nose and palate with cinnamon and cardamon. Red fruits brambly boysenberry, some slight rhubarb notes. But dominating it all is a wonderful spiciness. A pretty and fun wine. No sediment whatsoever. 15% alc. With assorted cheeses and salumi by the terrace fireplace. 04.08.23. Recommended.

January 13, 2023 - Solid zin with a telltale Russian River fruit signature. Not quite up to the single vineyard wines, but definitely a pleasant drink.

October 3, 2022 - Drank well off a PNP - big bowl of berries, medium bodied but the mouth feel makes the wine feel heavier than it actually is. Relatively simple, one-dimensional profile but well made, nice fruit, and balanced. QPR in the high $30s is fair. I’d guess this bottling has plateaued and should drink well for another 1-2 years.

October 2, 2022 - Solid taste. Good fruit. Couple of years more should be better.
