November 21, 2023 - One-hour decant through a screened and aerating funnel. Little sediment. During decant, nose took me back in time to my childhood with a strong aroma of red licorice strings. Wine was clear; ruby from bowl to rim with no sign of bricking. After resting in the decanter, the red licorice was still there but more subdued and buttressed by aromas of vanilla and tarragon. In the mouth, wine was smooth and well balanced, medium ripe cherries and forest floor with a very pleasant finish. As noted by another, the wine was in flux while being drunk. The nose slowly went from the artificial licorice to a more natural sweetened cherry and the vanilla and herbs continued to develop. The change undergone by the wine leads me to believe it should be left alone for two or three more years. I did, however, enjoy the wine very much.

April 30, 2023 - Keep in mind that this style of wine is not universally admired but for those who do, this is a stunner . Opened an hour before and double decanted, very little sediment. Medium + intensity deep ruby. Loads of legs. Very complex nose which changed/ developed in the glass. Morello cherry, plum, raspberry . Spice, mace, clove. Hint of chocolate . Cedar. Vanilla . Someone said “frangipan” and that sat with this wine being incredibly moreish. Initial blast of sweet fruit on the palate which then fades and the taste becomes quite complex. Good acidity and the tannins were very smooth. Long finish . Great wine

August 31, 2022 - We haven’t had an Allegrini Amarone in quite a few years. My memories are better then this bottle. This is the last bottle I will purchase. Borderline likable.

April 2, 2022 - Full of plum, dried cherry, date, chocolate, pipe tobacco, and soil. Very smooth and well rounded. Pretty good year for Amarone, and Allegrini is always enjoyable.

September 21, 2021 - Medium nose shows classic flavors. Palate is nice style, flavors without being too much fruit. Very dry in the finish.
