July 18, 2016 - Trimbach Frederic Emile Riesling Vertical-Six Vintages Between 1999 and 2009 (San Francisco): Herbal and very complex. Lacier and more elegant than any of the other wines. Endlessly complex; this probably evolved in the glass more than any of its stablemates. More orange and spice than any of the other vintages. Its delicacy reminded one of a German rather than Alsatian Riesling. A beauty with great potential.

June 6, 2016 - Wow. What a difference a year makes, or bottle variation, but this was very impressive. Medium body. Nose of pineapple, flint, and a touch of butterscotch. More of the same on the palate with a bit of sweet apple and a very slight touch of petrol. Drinking well now. Still a few more years left, however.

May 29, 2016 - Dinner at Trelio (Clovis Ca.): (mag) Had with the 09 CsH...and again the FE beats it! SUPER bottle here...fresh tropical fruit, lemon/lime acidity, petrol mineral funk....great salinity...super dry and pure. Loved it!

April 25, 2016 - Medium yellow. Peach and tea. Medium bodied, and it put on weight as it sat out. Still quite primary, pure stone fruit and lemon. More complete and textural than in the past, it is still on the upswing. Outstanding at present.

April 11, 2016 - Lovely wine drinking beautifully, glides past the tonsils with the greatest of ease. Medium-bodied, slightly minerally and slithery, mature dry Riesling. Admirable.

(Trimbach Riesling Cuvée Frédéric Emile) Sourced from grands crus Geisberg and Osterberg, says Jean Trimbach, the vines having an average age of 50 years, with the oldest up to 70. A bright and fresh nose here, limes and minerals in abundance, with a well-balanced and elegant substance. A grainy depth, supple and with plenty of appeal for the future. Excellent potential here.
