July 27, 2013 - Medium gold in color, leesy, nutty, with lemon zest, herbs, and smoky oak notes. Tropical fruit and lemon more prominent on the palate, with a fairly long mineral driven finish. Quite nice.

May 23, 2013 - Drinking like an aged Burgundy, rich with nuts and dried fruit, medium mineral noted.

December 10, 2012 - Surprisingly good showing for an aged Kistler, as these wines have proven quite variable in their ability to hold up over time, even in a cold cellar. Really beautifully balanced with citrus, mineral, toasted brioche, tropical fruit, and caramelized nuts. More Burgundian in style but with a California flare.

January 10, 2012 - IWFSC 771st Dinner (Custom House Tavern, Chicago, IL): More oxidized than the other bottles. Dried furits, lemon, menthol

October 21, 2011 - caramel color, oxidized aromas, alcohol, butter, and butterscotch; drink up
