Community Tasting Notes 5

May 18, 2016 - Yes. I was very concerned when I saw the very deep hue of this wine going on brown. The wine is clearly very evolved and has arguably moved out of the traditional category of a Puligny Montrachet and into something else.
Tasted blind, I would have placed this chardonnay in the Jura and have attributed much of the aroma profile to its "voile" character. It must have been a spectacular Puligny before this new and equally compelling identity.
Looking forward to tasting the other bottles...

May 10, 2003 - Again medium yellow. Almost identical in colour to wine number two. Flowers and peach on the nose. Well structured but not as broad as wine number two. And also a little bit less concentrated and complex. However, on its own, a superb glass of wine with a smooth finish.
