May 4, 2024 - Still very greenish bright in color, doesn´t seem to be seven years old. The nose is also impeaccably fresh: green apples, citrus, and a very clear tone of sea, salt and chalk. Very mineral nose, almost a bit too tight. The same can be said for the mouth. High acidity on the way in, on the mid palate the acidity is just searing, combining very fresh citrus/green apple tones with an almost tannic feel that transforms into chalk and seasalt. The finish is very fresh. Almost a bit too much, but overall it is saved by the fine green apple and lime fruit that lingers for a long time on the aftertaste. This wine just seems a bit too monolithic at the moment, but I feel that there is so much more to be revealed with some time. I´ll wait at least five years with the next bottle. The 2017 vintage seems to be one of the last «classic» Chablis-vintages, perhaps with the exception of 2021.

January 5, 2024 - Still amazingly young in color, almost water clear with an intense green glimmer. Tight and young at the nose, giving little more than some lime and green apples, and those typical tones of sea salt and chalk. Medium bodied attack on the palate, lots of citrus and green apples on the mid palate, high acidity and an slightly bitter tone like grapefruit. The aftertaste is high in acidity, but also with a strong note of salt and chalk. The finish is lemon and salt. This wine has just started it's aging process (I wonder when this will start, if ever?). With food - we had grilled scallops - the wine expands to include some more fruity tones. This bodes well for the future. This bottle was much younger and immature than the last. There must be some serious bottle variation here.

September 22, 2023 - This was just ok, given the producer and source. Might be over the hill a bit. 13%

June 8, 2023 - Light shiny yellow. Lemon, butter and minerality. Round edges and smooth palate. I expected layers and more finesse, but could not find it.

May 4, 2023 - The color has already gained a golden hue from aging. On the nose, age has also become quite pronounced: red apples, lime, a lactic tone (milky), and an underlying tone of minerals and salt. Medium to full bodied attack, a lactic feel on the mid palate combined with lime and apples. Although the acidity is quite forward, the finish is a bit heavy for a Chablis of this rank. The aftertaste is pleasant and fresh, with fine and classic notes of green apples and lemon, but still it lacks the mineral feel you expect from Montee de tonnerre. OK, I see that this came out quite negative. The wine is good, almost outstanding, but still I feel that the aging has come a bit to far, and what about that lactic feel?

March 16, 2023 - pale yellow color, nose of toast and apple, sleek mineral flows, on the palate very open with stone and apple notes, dense with good tension, flower petals, long and lean finish with elegant acids, a very good Chablis and one where a long wait is not required, this may develop a bit more but for the most part it is ready to go, with time in hand.

February 11, 2023 - Balanced wine but nothing stands out. Expect more from a Chablis PC.

February 3, 2023 - I love the nose - lemon and florals. Less fruit, more minerals on the palate. Good balance, delicious salty finish.
