October 28, 2005 - Right Bank Bdx Offline (The Square, London): INCREDIBLE aged wine nose, simply superb. Dried fruit, barnyard, toast. Nice acidity in the mouth, good attack, finish ok. My kind of wine.

October 3, 2003 - Orange-brown in the glass. Hard and acetone-like bouquet. Also scents of leather. But in the mouth, the wine is delightfully sweet, superbly harmonious and dense. Medium bodied and well structured. A bit short on the finish.

Vintage Tastings

(Cheval Blanc) The 1934 had a ‘whiff off doggie poo’ right off the bat, almost masquerading for Burgundy, according to Gil. James also observed that he forgot how Burgundian Cheval can be. There was great aromatic complexity in the ’34; rust, earth, wintergreen, old book and carob were all present. The palate was round and rich with great t n’a, but the acidity is what really made this wine stand out from every other so far. ‘What acidity!’ was how I put it, to be exact. There were also complex caramel and rust flavors on its lengthy finish. Christian Navarro loved the ’34 the best, and Michael La Tondre also said that the ’34 was his favorite, noting its, ‘Cohiba cigar, candied raspberry and tremendous finish’
