Community Tasting Notes 2

May 22, 2017 - A tasty and affordable sauterne light version of the dessert wines made in Bordeaux. See through reddish brown color with moderate hints of dried fruit, walnut, honey, caramel, and no sign of any oxidation. Enters the mouth with the two essentials for a good wine made from botrytised grapes - sweetness plus balancing acidity. The best part of the taste is the swallow, with a spike combining a refreshing acidity, no alcoholic heat, and a somewhat richer taste. Held up well for a 23 year old half bottle and likely to be just as good drunk in the next 3 years.

    October 16, 2012 - From a half bottle:
Amber color, beguiling nose with good balance of caramel sugar, fruit and acidity.
On palate it falls short. A bit flat with a relatively short and cloying finish.
disappointing, considering the first impression on the nose.
    Drink up
