February 2, 2020 - I agree. 1 hour of air was perfect. These Hartford zins can easily handle 5 years of age. Tannins have resolved, enough acid is still present to balance the fruit. The high level of alcohol (15.8%) is surprisingly still well hidden. Very enjoyable.

October 25, 2018 - Served blind I had a hard time placing this
The color suggested 10-15 years of age
    Light red fruit aromas
The mouthfeel was quite plush with a lightly tannic finish and quite elegant. My initial impression on opening was a merlot based 10 yo Bordeaux.
With more time this is much more obviously zin, with much more sweetness and a touch of heat.

But this has aged quite well and drinking beautifully with an hour of air. Most zins are drunk up by 5-10 years. For the 41 bottles still in peoples cellars this is absolutely worth a visit

June 29, 2015 - Licorice, smoke, peppery, and herbaceous bouquet and taste profile. Medium to medium plus acid, light tannins, well balanced, agreeable finish.

September 20, 2012 - Flat out delicious. Ripe, briary fruit, intense with a long finish.

February 3, 2011 - Dark purple in color, with an inky core. Aromas of brambly blackberry, blueberry, and violets give way to ripe black cherry, blueberry, Asian spice, and vanilla on the palate. This wine possesses briary zinfandel characteristics but also a sense of finesse. Soft, supple tannins and a medium finish.
