January 13, 2022 - Smooth, easy, low alcohol…don’t drink much Aussie Syrah but this was a treat with a nice beef brisket stew…

December 22, 2020 - Very velvety, lots of flavour of leather, tobacco, still firm structure. Very long finish

May 1, 2020 - Never the jammiest anyways, this Clarendon had enough fruit but is mainly notable for its balance. The 2001 showed exactly as I expected based on several prior experiences - aging gracefully and still a fine accompaniment to hearty stew.

March 2, 2016 - Still delicious, more elegant with fruit preserves, some secondaries, nice aromatics. Drink now, but will remain for a few years.

December 14, 2013 - Took to a Christmas party at friends' home. I did not decant it this time, but did not taste it for 30 minutes after the cork was pulled. Tannins are resolved and the wine is drinking at its apogee. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, black cherry, leather, some tar, licorice, oak and something caramel-like. Rich, intense and full bodied. Soft, velvety and somewhat viscous in the mouth. Great balance and structure. An extended and soft finish.

April 28, 2013 - An off putting sulfur aroma needs 20 min to blow off, then the wine blossoms into a balanced delicious wine.

October 18, 2012 - Same as last note. Best on 3rd day. Mixed a little Dehl. in and it added the needed fruit to make an excellent blend.
