February 8, 2024 - Classic in all the good ways. Really enjoyed the aromas but the palate was on the simpler/shorter side. Have enjoyed other vintages more.

February 8, 2024 - Sangiovese night (Chicago, IL): On the whole this is pretty good on the nose and attack, but it thins out significantly and feels very short. The elements here show more of a traditional, rustic edge to sangiovese, with a little more barnyard funk and leather, and less of the distinctive fruit notes. That said, in isolation this would be amply delicious for a plate of red sauce pasta on a Tuesday night, but sadly was outmatched by most of the other bottles on the table tonight.

July 21, 2007 - Drank in Summer 2007 which seemed to be perfect timing, decanted for 1hr, mild and pleasent fruit with no tannin/acid.

April 25, 2003 - Subtle red fruit on nose with delicate savory spices and herbs. Simple red cherry flavors on palate but again a nice blend of herbs give this lots of nuance. Good acidity, very good texture. Excellent with a meal, this wine should last for a long time.

January 27, 2003 - Medium-ruby to a violet rim. Beautiful nose with sweet floral, dark cherry, and anise aromas. Crushed fruit, and glycerin on the palate, but a little hollow in the middle. Simple, dry finish. Was expecting more after the impressive nose.
