July 14, 2016 - Bu avec Bulle et Meursault au Resto AVV La Suite de Sherby mercredi le 13-07-2016
Superbe bouteille, merci Bulle. Un accord magine avec le bleu bénédictin.
Un nez sur le miel, les fleurs, le Botritis et les abricots.
En bouche, très pure et racé. Pêches blanches, miel, marmelade et ananas.
Hyper long et bien équilibré. SUPERBE!

July 8, 2016 - Sommersmaking i Sandefjord del I / Norwegian summer night - BYO (Sandefjord): Dyp gyllen farge.

Quite sweet with a lot of honey, burnt sugar, orange peel and carmel. Rich palate coating mouth.

June 25, 2016 - 25 June 2016 Tasting at Phredd's: Final wine of the night courtesy of WaitinginManassas. Nice ruddy complexion with noticeable tartrate crystals floating in the bottle. Primarily botrytis and aged notes- waxy honeycomb, bit-o-honey, and toffee layered over hints of citrus, pineapple, figs, orange blossom and marzipan. A slightly bitter finish. Was expecting something more youthful, not sure why as it's a 15 year old 375 mL. Still pretty enjoyable, a fitting end to the evening. Overall evaluation: A- (92).

(Chateau Guiraud) From a half bottle. A rich hue in the glass, glossy gold. On the nose there is plenty of depth and structure rather than any simple sweetness. We have here oatmeal, the oak of old whisky barrels, marmalade and barley sugar. The palate is typical Guiraud, very fleshy and soft, rich, expansive, with fruit-pastille-orange character alongside orange blossom. It has acidity too, firm although admittedly rather swamped by the wine's impressive substance. Very good, great potential, although it remains in a very primary state at present, a melange of loose-knit components. Excellent potential though.

(Chateau Guiraud Sauternes) From a half bottle. Quite a deep colour here, vibrant gold tinged with hues of orange. A fine but plainly youthful and primary nose, displaying macerated orange fruit with honey and barley sugar, together with a little residual oak. Lovely presence on the palate though - there is intense richness of flavour, and a considerably weighty, creamy, viscous texture, but there is fine acidity too, so at no point does it appear unbalanced or blowsy. Appealing orange-floral notes. Soft, creamy, slowly fading endpalate. A very fine length too. This remains very primary at present and only time will reveal the complexity and interest that must lie within. Excellent.
