May 29, 2016 - Deep gold in color. Fairly open and aggressive nose shows poached apricots and nectarines, toasted saffron, light caramel and honey. Rich and unctuous palate contains waves of honeyed apricot and orange marmalade, baking spice, medium (-) acidity and long never ending finish.

May 12, 2016 - Quite deep burnished gold. Lovely balanced wine, almost elegant. Plenty ripe soft fruits, apricot, sweet pineapple, with a toasted Brazil nut creaminess. Barley sugar. Great acidity. Very long. Very nice. Will gain further complexity.

April 23, 2016 - Whites and Oregon Pinots w/ a Sauternes Kicker (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): This was a follow up to a recent bottle, tonight's, again, from 375 was excellent, not quite as good as the last one, and fun to taste next to the '01 Suduiraut. Color was a fair bit lighter than the Suduiraut also. Long with a bit sharper citrus, citrus zest character tonight on the finish, a bit thin in comparison. If you drank this alone it would be a different experience. Still excellent.

(Chateau Guiraud) From a half bottle. A rich hue in the glass, glossy gold. On the nose there is plenty of depth and structure rather than any simple sweetness. We have here oatmeal, the oak of old whisky barrels, marmalade and barley sugar. The palate is typical Guiraud, very fleshy and soft, rich, expansive, with fruit-pastille-orange character alongside orange blossom. It has acidity too, firm although admittedly rather swamped by the wine's impressive substance. Very good, great potential, although it remains in a very primary state at present, a melange of loose-knit components. Excellent potential though.

(Chateau Guiraud Sauternes) From a half bottle. Quite a deep colour here, vibrant gold tinged with hues of orange. A fine but plainly youthful and primary nose, displaying macerated orange fruit with honey and barley sugar, together with a little residual oak. Lovely presence on the palate though - there is intense richness of flavour, and a considerably weighty, creamy, viscous texture, but there is fine acidity too, so at no point does it appear unbalanced or blowsy. Appealing orange-floral notes. Soft, creamy, slowly fading endpalate. A very fine length too. This remains very primary at present and only time will reveal the complexity and interest that must lie within. Excellent.
