February 6, 2024 - Pale orange pink salmon color. An interesting mix of lactic creaminess, earth and strawberry and blood orange fruit. It didn’t pair as well as hoped with a pork tenderloin in pomegranate cream sauce mostly because the pomegranate was a bit harsh but the cream side went well. I suspect this is really a creamy butter chicken or salmon pairing. This would also go well with a cream heavy cheese course - Délice de Bourgogne for example. Lovely wine and really unusual style. This bottle says drink soon - this year or next.

December 19, 2023 - Lovely wine and very unusual. This drinks like a red burgundy and if you closed your eyes you wouldn’t really know the difference. Blood orange, earth. Pinot Noir light cherry. Slightly reductive on first opening but it dissipates quickly. Very aromatic after 60 minutes open.

October 27, 2022 - WTDS at All Saints (All Saints, Mpls, MN): Pale blood orange color. Drank a glass over an hour. Well this put a smile on our faces. I guess we need to start drinking more Sancerre Rose, or least more Cotat. This was quite beguiling with Meyer lemon, blood orange, flint, light floral notes on the nose. The palate shines with cherry, lemon-lime, creamy a nice texture and flinty minerality. Really a great rose. Loved it; 92+ to 93pts.

September 28, 2021 - This pours medium pink in the glass with immediate expressiveness and complexity on the nose. Notes of rose petal, flint, struck match reduction, oyster shell, cut grass, sea spray, limestone crushed rock, and a light custard element soar from the glass. The palate enters on a lovely bright red fruit complemented by rose petal and a light custard note. The finish lingers impressively for minutes on end. This is really quite complex and spectacular. Extremely enjoyable at this juncture.

August 27, 2021 - Pale salmon skin color. Delicate, not completely dry strawberry, herbs, and fine acidity. Thin sheen of glycerine. In celebration of the first (well, almost) summer day we've had in San Francisco this summer. I am thrilled to finally have tried a Cotat rosé, and it did not disappoint.

Even a bit of unusual grapefruit peel the next night. I guess this wine is intent on affirming its white Sancerre origins despite it being Pinot-based :)

June 3, 2020 - A private lunch with family (Restaurant De Lage Vuursche, Lage Vuursche, NL): Unfined and unfiltered. Silky and flowing, honeyed texture, spiced strawberries and cream, floral lift (rose), gentle bitters, smoky minerality, very good resonance and length. A beautiful rosé.
