May 2, 2018 - Compared to the 2002 Pibarnon, this has much more character, this is vraiment Bandol. Rustic in the good sense of the word, notes of animal farm and leather, dark fruit and spices and earthy notes. Good complexity now, tertiary notes but this will last a good amount of years more.

May 22, 2016 - Mature colour, nose iron and garrigue, fleshy at first on palate but dry tannins kick in on finish. Good but lacks the depth and interest of the best Bandol

March 12, 2016 - Cellartracker is so cool. It is great to read how other people think about and process a wine. Often much better than the polished critic comments. Thoroughly enjoyed this wine. It is distinctive, being a little syrupy and stewed almost like an amarone in texture. Good thick dark blue fruit which is subdued by well cloaked tannins. Medium weight.

August 9, 2012 - From magnum. From a lighter vintage which makes this more accessible at 10 years of age. A nose of tobacco, leather, animal fur and dark plums. Nicely mature and complex palate. Jesper compares this to mature Bordeaux. At BBQ/pool party chez Jesper and Maria at Mandlieu.

May 13, 2012 - Excellent. Dark brambly fruits, leather, meats, really nice flavor impact and just a bit of tannins left to be resolved. Rustic in the best sense of the word. This is just starting to enter a nice drinking window, particularly if paired with the appropriate food. Really enjoyed this. Drink now or hold, you'll be rewarded either way.

May 3, 2011 - A very tasty French wine for someone who drinks mostly California cabs. Earthy and chochlaty, with a brownish color. Light on the palate, with a medium aftertaste. A bit syrupy, like eating raisins instead of grapes.

January 3, 2011 - rustic, great acidity, and structure, provincial herbs and gamy meats, dry pine-sappy leathery hay and dust finish, i love this wine will seek out more

September 12, 2009 - Very good showing last night. Deep purple color. On the nose, this starts off with black fruit, smoke and leather. Complex palate: black plum, black olives, licorice, leather, smoke and sea salt from La Camarque. Somehow I get a sense that Pradeaux displays it terroir better in 'lesser' vintages. Big, voluminous palate feel. Rustic wine for sure - will not please everybody, but if you want to taste what old fashioned Bandol taste like - this is it. Great match for Susanne's duck stew with rigatoni.
