July 26, 2014 - Incredible short ribs with 2000-2005 vertical of special selection. We decanted all but for short times, just enough to get them all poured and then get them side by side in our glasses. The 2000 had good fruit nose and at about 20 minutes had wonderful rich dark fruit notes. But it did fade rather quickly-it was still good but not as flavorful

November 14, 2013 - Mature and complex aroma of blackberries, earth, cocoa, massive black fruits and a hint of raisins. Balanced on the palate, sweetish but not nearly as sweet as many other Napa reds. Curiously more structure than the 2010 Cabernet from Caymus, this could definetely age a bit more but it's drinking great already. Cheers

August 9, 2013 - Very nice, but not as good as expected, especially for price.

August 9, 2013 - Very smooth, nice wine. However, it seemed a bit flat. Unfortunately, I believe it was past its prime when I drank it.

June 27, 2013 - Very disappointing. Cellared upon release. Just an uninspiring bottle of wine. Had great color, but muted nose and palate. Some mild dark berry nose and palate with a touch of vegetation. Still quite a bit of oak and tannin. Consistent notes over 2 days and triple decanting. Never offered anything that I would expect from a $100 bottle of wine. Recently tried a young (2011) regular Caymus and had similar experience and notes. Just not living up to its reputation.
