February 27, 2024 - My last bottle. Unlike the previous bottle, this is drinking much better but there's no reason to let it sit around any longer because the cork broke apart!! The nose is pleasant and slightly floral, but the palate is much better. I get a palate of blackberry, black cherry, boysenberry, tar, and some elegant tannins to make this an exceptional Merlot. Drink now!!

September 17, 2022 - I think this was past its prime. Opened and decanted with cooked fruit and raisin box in the nose. After opening, we sipped with dinner and it was likeable with notes of stewed fruit on the palate and dark cassis, but this wine was DOA in my opinion. Should have drunk it sooner!

April 14, 2018 - Seems to be some bottle variation in this vintage. This one was much better than the last one we had. Medium body, complex, nice mouth feel, lovely nose. Modern style, so a bit sweet, but overall a very nice merlot.

August 26, 2017 - First impression: powerful, rich, thick and lush, silky, dense. And on the nose...just gonna say it: grilled, caramelized asparagus, and not in a bad way. Add blackberry syrup, steak, some salted nuts, a little boozy. Now a teenager, the performance of this 2004 demonstrates its ageworthiness. Sure has changed from its early days. Have a love/hate perspective on what Michel Rolland does with this merlot dominant blend, tending to "work" his wines. Results of this Washington State meritage are favorable
