November 29, 2015 - The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. The body is full. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.
One of the best wines I have had this season. Loved it!

November 26, 2015 - I always have a soft spot for Heitz, as the '97 Heitz Trailside was my epiphany wine. This particular bottle was a gift to my dad, who should have drank it by now, but it was sitting in his $99 wine cooler all these years. Opened on thanksgiving. Cellaring was not perfect, but the wine has still held up great. It's definitely entering into its secondary life, and as I expected, it is still silky, subtle and beautiful. It's not going to blow anyone away, but it was perfect at the end of the night, on its own, without food but with great conversation.

July 19, 2015 - Nicely aged, integrated cab. Tannins a bit soft, fruit still plentiful with medium length finish. Would say has peaked, but will remain interesting for a while.

June 7, 2015 - This wine is doing really well, but not improving any more. Red brick, dried red berry fruit, earth and a hint of mustiness that quickly dissipated. Great balance, all there. Long finish. Enjoy now.
