May 8, 2024 - "Rousseau is for drinking" (La Trompette): Immediately apparent that this had that bit more heft and stature than the two 1ers, although the shared vintage and producer signature was even more strikingly obvious. Wafts of airy red fruit on the nose, which became more complex in the glass and revealed layers of icing sugar, panacotta, strawberry coulis and rose - one of the best bouquets I've smelled in a while. Very clean on the palate, silky smooth and already approachable, but definite power and persistence too; you could absolutely keep this wine for years, but I find it hard to imagine it giving more pleasure if you did. My favourite wine today, and the group's joint #2.

March 15, 2024 - Not quite fully open and yet it gives pretty easy drinking. Has density without being overpowering or heavy.

December 14, 2022 - Michael's Wedding: Double decanted. Less Rousseau but more Charmes in expression than the bottle from a month ago, not a lot of blue fruit, but glossy and fairly open. 93

November 19, 2022 - Still youthful and nose is closed. This wine need time with potential to score 95 and above. Tannin is medium+ but polished. Medium+ acidity and only primary notes of red fruits, strawberry. Long finish.

December 19, 2020 - PNP into Riedel Burgundy glass (“Flower” day): Pale purplish to the eyes.

Good purplish cherry notes. Some transparency. Oak flavours not yet integrated here. Some ethereal fruits.

Good material here but clearly cannot live up to the hype...?

    93 points.
