April 23, 2022 - Medium garnet red colour. Slightly cloudy.

Quite reductive nose that needs time to blow off. A little too much time. Behind it, a delicate smell of light red berries and a metallic note that perhaps can be traced back to the reduction. Too dominant.

On the palate, it is fresh and delicious with notes of cranberries and bright red berries. The finish is medium and finishes somewhat short, but within the acceptable for the appellation. Fine.

January 8, 2022 - Immediately after opening, the aroma seemed slightly stewed and overripe. But after it got some air, the nose changed, still flavorful and perhaps a tad ripe, but also fulsome and complex. Over a period of three hours the wine found its footing, not subtle but rich, satisfying, surprisingly complex and long for a Bourgogne Rouge. Excellent QPR and delicious with tonight’s roasted salmon.

May 29, 2021 - Very nice bourgogne. heavy oaky developed to vanilla, cherry initially and evolved to starwberry at the end. Nice wine.

March 6, 2021 - Tastes like gamay. Not a bad wine, just not what I expected from an old world Pinot.

January 11, 2021 - Strawberry, rhubarb, red raspberry, soil, pine resin, and a little hint of funk. Light on its feet and stylistically a cross between old and new worlds; certainly a more lithe and airy delivery overall. Young and in need of a few years of bottle age, but still able to kick out some enjoyable flavor expansion with a decent amount of air. Finishes a bit thin presently, with clips of alcohol on the tail.

A great showing for a Bourgogne. 90-92 points. Excellent QPR at around $25. Hold for two-to-three years and be rewarded for sure. Sealed with DIAM 5.
