July 9, 2014 - This wine has not stood the test of time. Old, brown, and very unpleasant. So then I opened a bottle of the Hudson 04. Same result. And this is not the first time. Then I opened a Kistler "Kistler" vineyard. Still holding its own and mellowing nicely. For whatever reason the 04 and 05 Hudson, Vine Hill and Dutton have a problem. To be safe drink your Kistler Chardonnays in the first 7 years while they still taste great.

May 24, 2014 - solid shape for 9 year old CA chard...good acidity, length solid but secondary flavors were good not outstanding. I think this bottle has a life left... not sure it will get better but could add complexity.

March 16, 2014 - A bit off in the beginning. Cloudy. Got better with time but not as enjoyable as other 2005s.

October 11, 2013 - Very disappointing. See my prior note. Time has not been kind to this wine. Nose had new world butterscotch / caramel popcorn immediately upon open, but that quickly faded to just an "aged wine" nose. Not in a complex or elegant way, but in a tired way. Palate really didn't have much flavor to it at all. My note from 3 years ago was "...tasted like water...". Well, now it tastes like old water. This was a wine to be consumed young. Live and learn. Trust YOUR palate!

August 19, 2013 - Deep, rich color. Flint and vanilla on the nose with a slight hint of tropical fruit. Complex palate with pear, vanilla and citrus. Long finish. Excellent wine
