January 23, 2022 - Double decanted and drunk over 2 days. Medium garnet, light sediments. Not much fruit left on the nose, dried plums and tinge of mushroom and funk. Soft but noticeable tannins, medium acidity and medium- finish as well. Likely going downhill but tertiary notes should still be enjoyable in the short term, not complex.

December 6, 2020 - Very good level and cork. Drank it over two days. I expected a more austere wine but despite its pedigree and vintage there was some silkiness in the tannins and some subdued remaining black fruit (cassis). Finish on the short side. Paired well with a simple pasta dish. I would give it five more years, if well stored.

August 18, 2017 - Wedding Week; 8/16/2017-8/20/2017 (Fremont, CA): Briefer than usual impressions: Really a solid aged bordeaux, though maybe lacking in uniqueness. Lovely though, and I enjoyed it even in a party setting. 89

October 23, 2016 - displays a cold vintage. as reticent on the nose as a closed up sangio, but with massive unripe skin tannins. the hint of pyrazine will help to identify the wine , but im not convinced about its enjoyability

August 20, 2016 - Dinner @ home (Fremont, CA): Deep ruby with marked bricking appropriate for age; nose is moderately aromatic with cedar spice, tobacco, some remaining black fruits, slight capsicum; palate is full bodied, austere integrated tannins (slightly drying), residual black fruit through the midpalate; medium length finish. Fully mature, has the slight roughness of a St. Estephe, enjoyable and ready to drink now. Quite good for its release price of $20. 87-88
