August 15, 2022 - Pronounced and aromatic of leather, toast, earth, cooked black fruits, rather sweet on the palate. Medium acidity and medium tannin. Its probably the best value for money for vintage 1982
December 2, 2020 - Still some relative freshness here. Based on color I’d put this at no older than 20 years. Some dried/stewed red fruit, dried rose and violet, tea, sous bois. Spectacular aromatic intensity. Still has plenty of grip and acidity. Durand got the cork out just fine. Basket decanted and back to the bottle. Long live the ‘82s!
November 20, 2020 - Completely turbid and bricked over. Aldehydic and maderized nose of chocolate and raisin. Cork was actively seeping when pulled. 1 bottle left, looks in good condition.
March 23, 2019 - Undrinkable. Could smell across the room.
February 24, 2017 - I don't know, may be blind here. Again, funk blew off and seemed like a "subtle, elegant" bordeaux. May be a bit acidic, but overall nice. Wife liked it, and she's very quick to declare a wine bad, so must have been ok.
October 9, 2016 - I had low expectations as I essentially got this from an uncontrolled cellar for about $5, but this was drinkable, more so second night under pump. Funk blew off after a couple hours, then we had a nice, light, subtle wine. Certainly better than a current industrial wine, this has some complexity and respectable balance. Maybe a slightly off finish, but definitely drinkable on a weeknight.
July 7, 2016 - Undrinkable.
March 3, 2012 - Tasted side by side with it's heralded brother Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. My very first impression was - the difference between those two wines is much less than the original difference in price, but as the evening went by, the difference got bigger and bigger.
Still not bad at all and I wouldn't pour this wine into the sink, very good one, even though, not as good as it's brother.
