January 22, 2024 - Similar to the last bottle we had two years ago. Cherry, red currant, some baking spice. Quite medium bodied. Highly structured, well balanced but needs some food. A bit rustic.
December 18, 2023 - Garrigue, black pepper, vanilla, dark fruit and licorice in a concentrated Gigondas. No hurry to drink, will last another +5 years with ease.
May 31, 2023 - Lovely wine. Expressions of fruit--strawberry and blueberry-- underlain by gravelly minerality.
May 18, 2023 - Snoken and black berries.
April 16, 2023 - Strawberries, blueberries, gravel and forest floor on the aroma. Blueberries with spicy character on the palate. Medium-plus body. Medium acidity with medium-plus tannins that dry out the mouth. Overall, its a pleasant Gigondas that is ready to drink.
April 15, 2023 - My this is a spicy, tasty wine. Loads of flavor typical of Southern Rhone. This is a super wine for the price and goes great with chicken.
April 3, 2022 - Tasted blind; 12 Gigondas all from 2017; 12 people. This finished in the top half. Compared to its peers this was big and tannic, with loads of garrigue.
March 12, 2022 - I'd think this is 3-4 years away from really shining, but showing enough to be enjoyable now. Black raspberry, black currant, and dark chocolate notes coalesce, with hints of garrigue on the fringe. Patience.
March 6, 2022 - We enjoyed this wine. It had a great nose of cherry with some earthiness I like. The taste was cherry, some black currant, with some mild acidity, reasonably strong tannins, with a some baking spice notes. It definitely felt young. We have a few bottles of this so interested in what this will taste like in a couple of years. 70% Grenache, 14% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre, and 1% Cinsault.
February 25, 2022 - A youthful but already approachable Gigondas by one of the finest Rhone producers. A blend of 70% Grenache, 14% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre, 1% Cinsault. Deep ruby colour, red hue. Medium intensity aroma of cured meat, rubber, chokeberry, hints of smoky plum and a touch of barnyard. Full body, rich, round and smooth attack, cherry pit fleshy flavours mingle with notes of chocolate, plums, meaty hints, all coated in vibrant and youthful firm tannic structure.
