December 18, 2013 - Dinner with the Guys #9 (Marché Moderne, Costa Mesa, CA): Decent Burgundy with plenty of life still ahead. Good varietal character. Overall a nice wine. However, one expects a bit more from a Grand Cru. That extra delivery was just not there.

November 30, 2013 - Color is brick red, cherry earth and mushroom on the nose. Palate is cherry and minerals with tar and leather on the finish, medium to high acid needs lots of air to open, nice bottle at the Costco price.

November 17, 2013 - Quite translucent and the color has evolved closer to the brick red. Aroma has earth, red fruits and baking spices. Flavor profile continues with red cherries. Excellent and superbly balanced long mineral finish. Meets all the criteria to be located in G-C. A Chambertin in classification - but the Charmes absolutely distingushes it from its weightier cousin(e). A marriage of excellent fruit and skillful winemaking.
September 27, 2013 - Keith's 50th Birthday Celebration (Bin 75): Light orange rim with lake core; something reminiscent of McDonald's hamburger on the nose with pickles, a meaty quality, and the onions are in there too; slightly tinny on the palate, orange and light red fruit; called blind; really overmatched on a day like today; this bottle seemed more like an 87-88.
August 11, 2013 - Notes on final glass of bottle opened yesterday. Tawny crimson color, 50% saturated with medium legs. Very light nose of toasted fruit compote, herbs, and light spice. Light-medium body and a gentle layer of fruit sits on a smooth structure. Lost a lot of energy overnight as it took on too much air and flattened out. NR1 person found this helpful Comment
