August 21, 2020 - Tangy dark red fruit. Very dark sweet spice. Beautiful.
May 28, 2020 - From magnum. Light vitamin aromatics, superior lift. Fairly saline, which didn't suit my taste. This was a disappointment relative to elevated expectations. From Zachys Transcendent.
January 22, 2020 - Just a majestic wine. Leather, mushroom, sous bois and still whole in comparison to 78 CSJ that I had last month. ethereal and light but also very present and deep. 97/98

February 13, 2018 - Twenty Eight Vintages of Roumier Bonnes Mares: Also corked, if just slightly. Interestingly most of us kept drinking it, and it was that rare example (at least for me) of a corked wine that improved.
August 24, 2017 - Not entirely intact. Slight seaweed notes.
December 14, 2014 - MNSC - Alex (Chiu Tang): opened for 2hrs before serving. expressive with notes of game and barnyard. meaty and powerful, almost rhone-like.
March 11, 2010 - Burgundy Dinner: Pre-Paulee with Zachys (Quince - San Francisco CA): Nose was mostly secondary with mushrooms and leather, combined with charming and elegant spice. Flavors also very earthy with some baking spice in the background. Flavors interestingly started with taste than seemed all finesse, then ended with something showing some roasted meat and power. I would have liked to smell or taste some more hints of primary fruit to complement this wine's primary and tertiary charm and elegance, but this was still beautiful.
