October 23, 2013 - Nose shows red cherry, some darker fruit as it warms, game and notes of liquorice. Medium bodied, fine, rounded tannins, spicy black cherry fruit, game and meaty notes, lovely fresh acidity, notes of liquorice emerging on the good length finish. This remains very good indeed, drinking well but no hurry. Held up very well the next night.
December 1, 2012 - At first I thought it got be corked, but this seemed to blow off after a while. Quite savoury, a bit of funk, and some fruit, it seemed to develop for a couple of hours before going downhill, enjoyable though for an 04 village wine.

April 1, 2012 - Pale/medium mahogany/garnet core, medium pale mahogany rim. Sweet, slightly gamey red cherry and plum fruit on the nose. Medium bodied on the palate, sweet and gamey red cherry fruit, plum, some bilberry, notes of liquorice, surprisingly succulent with soft tannins and fresh acidity, good length finish. Very good indeed, drinking well.

February 24, 2012 - a little leafy green meanies , but not a lot. There is good earth and fruit here, with some interesting perfume. Red more so than dark fruited and medium bodied and with a softness that plays nicely with its medium weight and Gevrey earthy punch. There is an acidity I like, but maybe a bit much and on the down side, it clips off on the back end and finishes a little sharp. A good wine that is interesting. 87 pts

March 23, 2011 - Pale garnet core, wide very pale garnet/cherry rim. Nose shows medium + intense red and black cherry fruit, liquorice, some autumnal notes. Palate is medium bodied, relatively light and airy although not lean, red cherry fruit, gamey notes, fine, integrated tannins, enlivening fresh acidity on a medium length finish with liquorice notes. A good 04, continuing to drink well.
