April 10, 2021 - Shocked how well this has stood up. Awesome.
April 10, 2021 - Awesome, I was blown away how well this aged.
April 2, 2020 - Over the hill. Barely drinkable.
September 17, 2019 - Very fatty bur nice aromatics od butter, caramel, lenon-tard
September 29, 2018 - Lost bottle in cellar! Gold in color. Expressive aromas of buttered popcorn, honeysuckle, pineapple, vanilla and citrus zest. Thick and viscous on the palate showing ripe peach and pineapple marmalade, toast, good acidity and a long buttery and honeyed finish. What an upside surprise. A well stored 16 year old CA chard that is true to its terroir and has managed to age very well. The sugary taste has receded to the background and it shows a Batard like character!!
July 8, 2018 - Deep gold in color. Melted butter, pineapple, citrus oils and hint of caramel and vanilla on the nose. Rich, viscous palate shows ripe tropical fruit marmalade, honey-caramel, reasonable acidity and a long buttered popcorn finish. Not bad for a 16 year old CA chard.
June 14, 2018 - It was so good very happy with this wine unfiltered had it with Zack and Nikki was perfect age
January 17, 2017 - Second bottle this time sound. Mature, light golden,(proper for the age-as this was optimally stored ) thick and interesting although past it's prime drinking window. Improved with air and has enough acidity to keep it serviceable. Very different expression than in it's youth with some sherry notes kumquats, lime and tofee. A little too intense for the dish we paired it with (roasted Capon) try with sea food and a rich cream sauce which i will make a note to try with remaining bottle.
January 17, 2017 - Damn corked bottle.
July 19, 2015 - This one exceeded expectations! Layered tropical fruits on foundation of subtle butterscotch. Good acidity - almost minerally - kept the wine fresh. Held up very well over 90 minutes of drinking. Plan on enjoying my remaining bottles over the next 2 - 3 years.
