March 29, 2024 - Pnp. Vakker, kjølende og sitrusdrevet duft og smak. Sitrondrops, hvite blomster, kaldt smør og nøtter. Nøysom fatbruk og vinen oppleves som fjellbekkren. Intens og elegant fra start til mål.
January 15, 2024 - 2 bottles, pnp, perfect corks and level - quite pale yellow; fresh, orchards and citrus, acid edge and simple; lightish, fine line and length, fresh in attractive reduced style, bit acid and simple but good stuff for what it is as expected from PYCM, upside, 5 years. VG (16).
December 8, 2023 - Mongeard-Mugneret and friends (London Borough of Bromley): Served blind. A bit more clinical on the nose. Is this a village Puligny? No - lower than villages classification. There's a tautness here, a line. This producer delivered well in '18 and at this level their wines really shine. Lovely.
October 22, 2023 - Pop and pour. Notes from 24 hrs open. A touch attenuated and more acidic than my previous btl. Still the lime, vanilla are present, but just ok on the nose and palate. I'm ok not buying this again.
October 8, 2023 - This wine is in a sweet spot for PYCM - a great illustration of the style but not an overly aggressive example for those who are overwhelmed by the sulphuric reduction of that style. About exactly what I'd want chardonnay to be - energetic and electric, reductive and smoky, ripe and starting to show some faintly caramelized notes. I have a couple more bottles that I'll drink over the next couple of years.
July 1, 2023 - Uncorked and poured, this light golden wine requires only about 20 minutes to shed its light reductive notes and fully exhibit a bouquet of lime zest, Bosq pears, white peaches, lemon verbena, jasmine and wet stones. Medium-bodied, crisply acidic, minimally oaked and without noticeable alcohol (listed as 12.5%), it delivers flavors mirroring the aromas, adding notes of ginger and cardamom. The wine's beautiful minerality is pervasive on the dense mid-palate and lengthy finish. This well-crafted white Burgundy is just hitting its stride. It should show nicely throughout the remainder of this decade, possibly longer. Serve it at no lower than cellar temperature in order to maximize the aromatics. Drink now-2030.
February 26, 2023 - Great Value
Good to know the PYCM style
Delicious and Layered
It's definitely not an ordinary HCDB
February 25, 2023 - behind the long name is chardonnay grapes from three west-southwest facing parcels. Lifted with white flowers and a chalcky grip. Reductive, a bit austere and closed with medium-high acidity.
February 19, 2023 - Remains pale; crystalline focus to bouquet; there’s more apparent on the palate, razor sharp attack & sense of place ; crisp finish, very long.
October 6, 2022 - Lovely citrus and white flower nose, just a hint of reduction, med body, linear, not too complex, easy to like
